In Harry Potter history, this month saw Ms. Rowling’s writing hands honored in Edinburgh (no reflection, I trust, on the heaviness of her prose (?) or the lack of height or majesty critics have found in her prose). And Twilight characters join the Hogwarts crew with their own set of action figures from the Tonner Doll Company. (H/T to David and Toni!)
I joked once that Pottermania was so widespread a phenomenon that Osama bin Laden probably had Hogwarts action figures under his pillow in whatever Pakistani cave he’s hiding in (not very funny, I know). Do any of you have one or more Harry Potter dolls or plans to buy the Tonner Twilight set?
No dolls for me, I have no space for action figures, but I have some other merchandise. I have the set of Hogwarts House pins and the House bookmarks from Noble Collections, and a small stuffed Hedwig that I got for Christmas. Oh, and the trivia game that came out back when Sorcerer’s Stone was new. Wish I could find the card sets for the other books as well.
We have one tiny Harry figure that came with a game, one Harry pushing a trolley at Kings Cross that came on a birthday cake, the Scene It trivia game, Harry and Dementor Halloween costumes and wand and glasses that came therewith, the golden snitch 20Q game, some bookmarks, assorted trading cards, and kids bedding. Wish we could find towels, wastebasket, bedside lamp, etc. A lot of the Potter stuff is too expensive in my book; it’s actually undermerchandised at the lower end of the price scale (a propos of your other discussion thread). Don’t have an official Hedwig, but a Shining Stars snowy owl does the trick.
I have the Professor Snape one… It is very lovely.
My office is sort of a Snape museum 😉
Those of you who are both Harry Potter and Lost fans, check out this great laugh using action figures at:

There are a about four scenes, some incorporating “Others” from other fantasy worlds, such as Star Wars.
Harry Potter and Lost fans, check out this great laugh using action figures from both franchises (no spoilers!):

Arabella, thank you for that wonderful laugh! As a LOST fan (well, a LOST fan who has recently begun watching the show again with some enthusiasm, after being disgruntled in seasons 3 & 4) I found the combination of Lost and HP action figures hilarious. Jack taking on Voldie was grand. Go, Jack!
