If that village name seems familiar, the Aylmerton parish church is an old friend: the round tower aedifice of St John the Baptist’s. I know the hypothesis that Rokeby will die, possibly as soon as the next book, is popular here. I am reminded of Rufus Scrimgeour, the minister initially described as looking like a lion, who behaved quite badly but who, at the end, died protecting Harry. Is this another indication that Jonny Leonard Rokeby will be crossing the veil soon?
