The Daily Wire covered the story: ‘J. K. Rowling Reacts to Trump’s No Men in Sports Executive Order‘
“Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling, who has become an outspoken critic of trans-identifying men participating in women’s sports in recent years, posted a lengthy reaction on Thursday to President Donald Trump’s signing of an executive order banning the practice.
“Congratulations to every single person on the left who’s been campaigning to destroy women’s and girls’ rights. Without you, there’d be no images like this,” she said in a post to X that included an image of President Trump holding up the EO with his signature as he’s surrounded by young female athletes who witnessed the signing.
“This ‘why do you care about a tiny fraction of the population?’ line is, and always was, utterly ridiculous,” Rowling continued in a follow-up.
All well and good — and in line with what she’s been saying since Trump’s election.
To include being incapable of saying or even suggesting, allowing for the possibility that President Trump promised to keep women’s sports for women because it was was a matter of principle to him or that he demonstrated what would have been called courage if he had been a leftist. He made that pledge early in 2023 when it was of no clear advantage to him politically and taking such a stance was still radioactive in terms of media coverage. He followed through on it, too, in the week his most difficult cabinet positions are up for a vote in the Senate.
Rowling’s audience, as I have said before, is not Trump’s so it is just as well perhaps that she show not even a hint of admiration and gratitude for his doing the right thing, what she has been calling for the last five years. Trump has set the Gender Theory Extremists’ cause back at least twenty years with his several Executive Orders since 20 January and provided the model for politicians throughout the world. I wrote several months ago that one of Rowling’s blind spots or examples of political calculation over principle, call it ‘cowardice,’ is her inability to acknowledge that what Trump holds as true and is doing with respect to “transgenderism” is her stance in all but near invisible details.
Oh, well! Here’s hoping her message is getting through to the Left so that resistance to Gender Theory ideology becomes a bi-partisan movement enshrined in law so the next Democratic President won’t rescind Trump’s EOs and start the madness all over again.
