‘Argus’ Rowling Returns to Twitter

[I have finished writing the piece on Caravaggio’s Supper at Emmaus which I have sent out to HogwartsProfessor Substack subscribers tonight after the site returns from its “scheduled maintenance.” Subscriptions are free so head over there if you want to read about Rowling’s “favorite” painting and what can be gleaned about her own artistry and meaning from a close look at its embedded symbolism.]

There has been a risible meme among genderists and other Rowling Revilers in the past week that she has been silent on Twixter, even that she has been deleting old tweets, because she realized she went too far in saying the Algerian boxer who won an Olympic gold medal boxing against women is a man. The boxer’s representative filed a going-nowhere “cyber-bullying” complaint, not a law suit, in which Rowling, Elon Musk, and even Donald Trump were named.

This supposedly put the fear of punishing litigation and fines into Rowling’s dark “transphobic” heart and caused her to retreat from the public square. For a prime example of that rich nonsense, see ‘20 RUTHLESS reactions to J.K. Rowling’s going silent and dirty deleting on X that have us HOWLING‘ or ‘J.K. Rowling Goes Radio Silent, Mass Deletes Tweets As Reported Lawsuit From Boxer Imane Khelif Looms.’ Read the links in those articles or follow down through the comment threads to witness the bilious rage even Rowling’s silence can inspire.

I speculated a week ago inIs Rowling Silent Because of Lawsuit?that the much more likely explanation for Rowling’s vacation from Twixter has been that, well, she’s on vacation, north of Greenland. Even better, she might be working very hard on her super yacht at the task of finishing Hallmarked Man, for which we have not yet been given a publication date. If Strike8 will be published in time for Christmas sales or for release in conjunction with the Bronte Studios Ink Black Heart adaptation for BBC-tv, that announcement is long overdue.

Join me after the jump for Rowling’s response to those celebrating her absence.

Whatever her actual reason for the time away, it wasn’t because she’s realized her mistake about the XY boxer. She returned to her social media ‘bully pulpit’ this morning with a link to an article in Substack’s ‘Reality’s Last Stand,’ ‘Imane Khelif Launches Hyper-Feminizing PR Campaign as a Distraction.’ The subtitle of that piece, if you didn’t catch the sense of it, is, “At some point, you can no longer pretend to be a victim. That point has been reached.” The quotation from the article Rowling highlighted is, “It’s important to highlight that launching a PR campaign and applying layers of thick makeup requires far more time and effort than simply making DNA test results public.”

I have been assured that the supposed “deleted tweets,” none of which the Revilers could share, do not exist. As a friend who tracks these things reported when I wrote with a question, ” No, no tweets deleted, at least not notable ones. People have jumped to conclusions seeing her tweet count drop. This can also be caused by people she has tweeted removing their accounts.” Will the genderist hysterics acknowledge their error? (Apologies for the rhetorical question.)

Much more interesting — to me at least — was the news that Rowling’s yacht off the coast of Greenland is now being accompanied by an ice-breaker. I kid you not. Even better, the name of the ship is ‘Argus,’ a rental available through ‘Classic Yacht Charters.’ I hope the many-eyed ship captain is not a Squib or in any way related to the Hogwarts Caretaker. (You can’t make this stuff up.)

Why would Rowling hire an icebreaker when she is well south of the northernmost point of her Greenland adventure? All I can think of is that it’s been a very bad week for superyacht owners, even those in the warmest and calmest of seas. No need to experience the agonies of Shackleton’s Endurance or the White Star Line’s Titanic when you can afford an icebreaker shadow vessel, right?

Dr Murray has not tweeted since 15 August. I suspect his silence is also not due to the concerns of his barristers and financial advisers.
