Countdown to Mockingjay: 13 District Blog Tour

7 Days Until Mockingjay! Let the HogwartsProfessor Official Countdown begin —

If you’re like me and do not surf Hunger Games fandom sites with any regularity, you are totally in the dark about Scholastic’s Mockingjay release promotion currently in full progress. It’s called “The 13 District Blog Tour” and involves 13 YA reading web sites, none of which are in the Hunger Games blog-o-sphere per se. Each site talks up its assigned District from the Games and offers a promotional give-away from the Scholastic Mother-Ship. Yesterday, the Tour reached District 7, NovelNovice.com, and tomorrow it goes to Jenn’s Bookshelves for District 8 (see schedule and links below the jump).

The front and back of the Tour are pretty obvious. The good news is that Scholastic is using its head to direct the horde of Hunger Games readers to a bunch of quality weBlogs they probably never would have found on their own. The downside?

It seems a little bit like a Capitol production, no? Tell me what you think, please, and, if you take the Tour, which of the first seven District Tour websites struck you as worth a second visit. “Hey, Lady!” District 6 was a hoot.

Here is an updated Round-Up of Hogwarts Professor Hunger Games posts. Tomorrow, the Mysteries of President Snow! (Can you say “Bloody Breath”? Oh, yeah!)

  1. Being a book blogger, I’m familiar with several of the stops on the tour. I love Hey Lady, Galleysmith was great, and the post at DearAuthor was a hoot. I’m also looking forward to all of the next 6 stops–especially Presenting Lenore (who is running Dystopian August right now) and The Book Smugglers (fabulous discussion posts there).

  2. Oh, I can assure you that all of us on the tour are HUGE Hunger Games fans! I am expecially excited about my giveaway and post. It is going to be epic.
