Thank you Nick for linking the history of the Coventry Carol. I just discovered it this year in my own research. I enjoy English history and knew this carol was included in Tudor Christmas collections and wondered when it was written and performed. It’s a beautiful carol but now carries with it the sadness of what it represents.
